The prestigious recognition for the team, led by Prof. Dr. Eng. Stoyan Slavov, is in the scientific field of "Technical Sciences". The official award ceremony took place in the hall "Prof. Marin Drinov" of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAS) on 13 May 2026.
During the event, a total of 22 projects from 11 different scientific fields were awarded, selected for their significant results in the past year. The awards were presented in the presence of the Manager of the Bulgarian National Science Fund Prof. Dr. Yuri Kalvachev, the management of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, rectors and representatives of the academic community.
The project, funded by the Bulgarian National Science Fund, is focused on fundamental research for obtaining and subsequent control of topographic characteristics of specific reliefs that are used in modern mechanical engineering. This high distinction emphasizes the level of research activity at the Department of Manufacturing Technologies and Machine Tools of the Technical University of Varna. The success of the development is another proof of the university's serious contribution to the development of innovations and the national scientific space.
