🚀 Introducing Mind the Gap: From Research to Market-Ready Innovation

Mind the Gap brings together 7 partners3 HEIs, 2 business partners, and 2 NGOs—from diverse European innovation regions to bridge the distance between academic breakthroughs and real-world impact.

🌐 Vision & Approach

Our goals are clear: (1) foster entrepreneurial skills among students and researchers, (2) strengthen universities’ capacity to support innovators, and (3) boost entrepreneurial activity across Europe. Guided by the 4Cs Framework, we connect academia, business, and policy to build a dynamic, inclusive innovation ecosystem.

🧩 Key Actions

  1. Develop new entrepreneurial courses
  2. Tailor PhD programs for innovation pathways
  3. Integrate business acceleration within HEIs
  4. Connect stakeholders across regions for faster knowledge flows

🌱 Strategic Alignment

We advance six expected outcomes—improved knowledge flows, enhanced skills, increased competence, more local talent, stronger entrepreneurship, and higher youth employability—supporting the New European Innovation Agenda, the European Green Deal, and the EIT HEI Initiative. Building on networks like CloudEARTHi, SEEDplus, and Inspiring the Minds, we reinforce Smart Specialisation Strategies, champion gender balance, open science, and ensure long-term sustainability.
